They are bombarded with information...

For the most part, companies have done a great job over the years of developing methods to understand their customers and prospects. They spend money to make sure that the products and services they are delivering meet the demands of the marketplace. Focus groups, database marketing and analytics all have grown and matured and play a part in guiding product and service strategies.

I recently had the opportunity of reading two great pieces as we look at closing out 2006. The latest book by Mitch Albom, For One More Day and the other was a recent article in Time magazine, Time Person of the Year, You. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1569514,00.html

Why should businesses change the way they approach their communication activities?

The first question a business leader will ask is “why do I need to change?” Things are working today, why bother? I often find myself caught in the same trap and trying to convince others that change is good, while prolonging my old ways as well. Some days change is a great adventure, while others it just takes more time and is a real drag. So, what is the motivation to change, at least to adoption of a Great Business Wiki Content Collaboration solution?

Why Banks Should Look at CustomerVision as a Means for Secured Email Exchange

Yes, after reading a recent article in, ABA Banking Journal, about the key challenges banks face this year, it was apparent that Banks need to be leveraging solutions that help assist customers on a 24x7 basis and equip their customers with the ability to submit secured emails.

A number of big vendors, like Microsoft, IBM and Salesforce, try to be everything to everyone, providing a plethora of features that are meant to make the customer feel like they are getting the "One Product" that will solve all their business needs. While, in the real world this just isn't a practical.

Outreach from the Holidays

Hustle and bustle are common side effects of the major holiday season we are currently putting to rest. Did anyone stop to realize that all this hustle and bustle is self-inflicted. What if we took a holiday to do what we wanted, with whom we wanted and celebrated the true joy of the season...fellowship and the hope of a better tomorrow? Our kids would not appreciate it, our relatives might be a little upset and the company party might not be as fun....but our moods would be revived, our pocketbooks still in tack and our time would be better spent, or would it?

My philosophy in business is to confront a problem head on. I've never been a believer in tiptoeing around a problem, issue or faulty process. My approach can be somewhat daunting at times to my fellow coworkers and staff but I do believe however it proves itself in the end and makes us all better and more fulfilled individuals.

Integrity

If you look up "Integrity" in the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary you get the following definition “firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values”. Now I know most companies like to think they do the right thing most of the time but hey, it’s a dog eat dog world and you have to do what you have to do to make money right? To me, integrity means an uncompromising commitment to do the right thing with customers, partners and employees.

A new paradigm for success based on decision making skills.

We use to believe that any decision within a corporation could potentially put you on the road to failure. This has proven time and time again to be a myth as companies make many wrong decisions in a day or over the course of the business. What business's have failed to understand however is that making NO decision at all is worse than the wrong one.

Being an Entrepeneur in Iowa

After commiserating with my partner yesterday it struck me how whenever I get down about how hard it is to sell and market an innovative new technology and when I begin to feel that people aren’t ready for it, I always seem to be pleasantly surprised by someone that really understands and embraces what we are doing, someone that understands the value of dealing with information overload and enhancing their most valuable channels of communication.
